Theft of Pedal Cycle

Dear Resident

Please be aware of several bike thefts that have occurred in Wheathampstead in recent weeks. At least three have involved pedal cycles being stolen from the rear gardens of private properties.

In all cases the bikes have not been locked up and access to the property has been via a side gate or rear alleyway.

Please can you ensure that if you own a pedal cycle, you lock it to a ground lock or wall lock, even if it's in your rear garden. Also please ensure you lock all garden gates to ‘target harden’ access to your property.
